Bulk carrier ASOMATOS struck stern of while overtaking general cargo ship HAJE HALIMEH at around 2110 UTC Oct 12, in Marmara sea north of Marmara island. HAJE HALIMEH stern sustained damages, ASOMATOS starboard forecastle and bow were it seems, dented and scratched. Both ships were diverted to Tekirdag and anchored, for damages assessment and investigation. Bulk carrier is en route from Kavkaz port Russia to Haifa with cargo of grain, general cargo ship is en route from Ukraine to Spain, with cargo of wheat.
