General cargo ship NORDIC KYLIE ran aground in Marghera Canal, Venice Lagoon, at around 1900 LT Apr 1, while leaving Marghera (Venice). The ship managed to free herself by own means, mainly by managing ballast, about half an hour later, and was escorted by two tugs to outer Marghera Anchorage. As of 0500 LT Apr 2, remained anchored. No damages reported, so far. Understood the ship ran aground on unmarked shallow. Her next port of call is Ashdod.
