Cargo ship sank in Makassar Strait, 11 missing, 4 survived by a miracle | KM TEMAN NIAGA

General cargo ship TEMAN NIAGA sank in Makassar Strait on Aug 22 while en route from Kotabaru, southeast Kalimantan, to Makassar, Sulawesi, with 15 crew and cargo of cement. Disaster wasn’t known until Aug 25, when 4 survivors, climbing to capsized lifeboat, were spotted and rescued by passing ferry DHARMA FERRY III – a sheer miracle. As of Aug 27, SAR is under way, but no signs of missing 11 crew found so far.
