General cargo ship BAGHDAD while mooring at Umm Qasr, Iraq, struck berthed container ship ESL WINNER, understood in the afternoon Dec 24. Contact was so strong that container ship lifeboat was torn off its’ lashings, stern transom also sustained damages. ESL WINNER shifted berth after collision. Both ships on Dec 25 remained berthed at Umm Qasr.
