General cargo ship GIA BAO 19 sank in South China sea at around 0230 LT Dec 17 some 35 nm north of Da Nang, Vietnam, while en route from Hai Phong to Vung Tau. Cause of sinking unknown, understood SAR under way, crew are spotted or rescued, but 2 crew went missing.
