Laker CUYAHOGA suffered fire in engine room at around 2200 LT (UTC -4) May 23 in Lake Erie, Great Lakes, north of Pelee island, while en route to Kingsville, Canada. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit, Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Canadian Coast Guard responded, fire was contained and most probably, already extinguished as of 1300 UTC May 24. Understood bulk carrier was disabled by fire, she has been anchored and remains at anchor.
