Pirate attack on Turkish crewed ship!

Pirate attack on Turkish crewed ship! - News2Sea

A ship with a Turkish crew was attacked by 2 skiff boats and heavy machine guns while cruising south on the Red Sea on 10 December.

2 skiff boats and heavy machine guns attacked the Turkish crewed ship under the Eskomarine Security Service.

After a gunfight between the Armed Security Team and the pirates, two attack boats were repulsed. The ship and crew continued their course safely.
The report prepared regarding the attack was instantly notified to UKMTO and brought to the attention of the ships navigating in the region.

Despite the imminent removal of the Indian Ocean HRA, the threat of piracy remains a significant threat to the shipping industry and ships that needs serious consideration.

While all ships and sailors operating in areas from the Bab el-Mandeb Strait to the Red Sea are strongly advised to implement BMP5 precautions, be extremely vigilant and report any suspicious approach, it is recommended that Armed Security Guards be deployed for such situations.
