Tug SOLOMBALETS-3 lost barge in southeastern Barents sea, Russian Arctic, reportedly on Nov 2, during towage in stormy weather. Barge with 350 tons of fuel is destined for Kolguyev island nenets settlements, to provide power generators work during winter. Towline snapped, runaway barge is drifting somewhere in the area between island and mainland, understood she’s spotted and monitored, but adverse weather hampers attempts to get her back on tow. Barge is danger in itself, considering cargo, and a navigational danger, with a lot of traffic in the area.
