General cargo ship S. KUZNETSOV suffered engine failure at around 2240 UTC Aug 31 in Barents sea some 50 nm north of Hammerfest, Finnmark, Norway, while en route from Haydarpasa Istanbul to Murmansk. As of 1310 UTC Sep 1, the ship was still adrift, drifting some 10 nm in southern direction towards Norwegian coast. Norway Maritime Administration is readying tug in case towage will be required.
