Russian tanker SIG, anchored off Kerch Strait in Black sea since Jul 30, was hit by drone during the night Aug 4-5, and seriously damaged. According to some reports, engine room was damaged and flooded, ship’s bridge also sustained damages, AIS is off. SIG needs towage. Tug MERKURIY (IMO 7391692) understood to arrive at site from Novorossiysk, to assist disabled tanker.
Tanker arrived at anchorage in ballast, from Mediterranean, where according to AIS, she didn’t make any port calls and STS discharged her cargo somewhere south of Rodos island, between Jul 18-24. Or maybe she called Syria. Dark are the ways of Russian tankers, presently.
