A horrible accident occurred on board of general cargo ship İBRAHIM SIMSEK on Feb 1, at Kartal anchorage, Istanbul, Marmara sea. One crew was caught between moving cargo hold folding hatch covers, and squashed to death. Video of the ship was taken from drone.
According to the news of İHA, the incident took place on the ship named İbrahim Şimşek, off the coast of Kartal, at around 15:15.
Allegedly, one of the ship’s crew died after being trapped between the hatch covers on the deck of the ship.
Upon the notification of the crew who witnessed the incident, medical teams, firefighters, maritime police and coast guard teams were dispatched to the ship. Inspections were made on the ship by the crews.
On the other hand, the ship where the incident took place was viewed with a drone.
