Tanker KING RICH sole voyage in South China sea - News2Sea

Dec 2 UPDATE: Tanker was found on the coast of Cu Lao Cham island, south of Da Nang, Vietnam, in the morning Dec 1. After tanker was abandoned on Nov 18, she drifted some 620 nm in WSW direction, and ended on island’s coast. Tanker is in ballast, so the only headache for Vietnam is wreck removal – who will do it, and who will pay for it.

Nov 19 news: Tanker KING RICH abandoned by crew on Nov 18 81 nm NW of Badoc island, northwest Luzon, after water ingress via propeller shaft. Crew rescued, tanker status unknown, no AIS during last 39 days. 16 crew were picked up from life raft by cargo ship SHENG AN (IMO 9947380) and transferred to Subic. Tanker is in ballast.
