UK and Yemen met: Red Sea on agenda

Yemeni Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak reportedly discussed security repercussions in the Red Sea with Lord Tariq Ahmed, the British Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa.

According to Yemen’s official SABA news agency, the ministers held a telephone conversation following the escalation of tensions in the Red Sea after the Houthis targeted international ships and the US and UK launched attacks on Houthi sites.

During the call, the two ministers discussed the latest developments in the situation in Yemen and the region and the cessation of Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, as well as the security repercussions in the Red Sea, the threats facing international shipping and their impact on the Yemeni people.

The ministers stressed the importance of establishing peace and building the foundations of security and stability in Yemen.
