General cargo ship HOANG GIA 46 struck reef in the morning Jan 26 off Quang Ngai Province coast, central Vietnam, and suffered hull breach with ensuing water ingress. The ship was disabled, drifted ashore and grounded on the beach. 11 crew safe. HOANG GIA 46 with 2715 tons of rice was en route from My Thoi port to Hai Phong.
