Apr 18: General cargo ship WILSON SKAW ran aground at around 1400 UTC Apr 18 north of Hvammstangi, northwest Iceland.
Apr 19 0420 UTC UPDATEShip’s en route from Hvammstangi to Holmavík with cargo of salt. Fore ballast tanks were breached with ensuing water ingress, patrol ship FREYJA (IMO 9455105) is on the scene, divers are to inspect ship’s bottom before refloating attempts. The ship ran aground on a rocky bottom. Owner is to assign salvage company. No leaks reported.
