Police in the Netherlands organized a drug operation that lasted 2 days. Dutch police announced that approximately 1 ton, 697 kilograms of cocaine was seized in two separate operations at the Port of Rotterdam this week. It was stated that 1 ton, 197 kilograms of cocaine was found in the banana shipment in the container sent from Ecuador and its market value was approximately 90 million euros. In the statement made by the Rotterdam Prosecutor’s Office, “Bananas were to be stored in the Netherlands. Their final destination was Ukraine. “Both companies in the Netherlands and Ukraine probably have nothing to do with smuggling.”

It was reported that 500 kilograms of cocaine seized were hidden in cylinder sports bags in containers filled with jam and marmalade. While it was noted that the containers came from Colombia, it was stated that “The Dutch company planned to be sent probably has nothing to do with smuggling.” It was announced that the value of the seized drugs was 37.5 million euros.

The investigation into the incident continues by the HARC team, which is formed in partnership with the port police, customs, FIOD and the prosecutor’s office.
