Coast Guard officials in the USA said that 1 person on the seaplane that crashed into the Puget Strait lost his life, and 9 people, including a child, were missing.
Four Coast Guard vessels, a rescue helicopter and a plane launched an extensive search with rescue and law enforcement officials nearby.
Authorities announced that the two ships will continue their search efforts throughout the night and air patrols at first light of day.
It was reported that the plane was flying from Friday Harbor, a tourist destination in the San Juan Islands, to Renton, south of Seattle.
