Container ship CAPE CORTIA suffered fire, reportedly in engine room, in the morning Jan 30, on approaches to Balboa, Panama Canal. Fire was extinguished by Panama city firefighters, the ship was taken to Panama International Terminal PSA, Balboa, and berthed at around 1650 UTC Jan 30. Understood fire was confined to engine room only. The ship arrived from Chile.
