Aman Group and Cruise Saudi Commission a Luxury Cruise Superyacht at Mariotti Shipyard - News2Sea

Italian shipyard, T. Mariotti has signed a contract with a joint venture of Aman Group and Cruise Saudi to build a new luxury yacht cruise ship. The new vessel, which is being called a “luxury resort at sea”, is expected to enter service in 2026.

The vessel is dubbed, “Project Sama” for now, “Sama” in Sanskrit meaning tranquility. The ship will be 23,000 gross tons and will have a length of about 600ft. The ship will feature 50 balcony suites, several restaurants, entertainment facilities, a spa, a Japanese garden, a “beach club” marina at the stern, and two helipads. It will also be the first ship from the T.Mariotti shipyard to be dual-fueled.

The designs for the exterior profile of the ship and the guest accommodations have been prepared by yacht designer; SINOT. This yacht designing company has several notable designs under its belt, including the $644 million “Aqua”, which is the world’s first hydrogen-powered super-yacht.

The agreement to build the vessel was inked between T. Mariotti and Neptune Co., a joint venture between Aman and Saudi Cruises. Plans for the cruise ship were revealed in 2021. With this new venture, Aman became the fourth hotel group to commission a cruise superyacht for itself. The other three hotel groups are the Ritz-Carlton, the Four Seasons, and the Orient Express.
