Aqaba Cruise Terminal Welcomes Its First Cruise Ship - News2Sea

The first cruise terminal of Jordan, the Aqaba Cruise Terminal, welcomed its first ship the MSC SPLENDIDA. With the terminal becoming operational there are more than 50 ships scheduled to call in the next four months.

The terminal is designed primarily to serve the needs of travelers coming from adjacent countries and those coming from Jordan itself. The terminal is also geared towards welcoming passengers of all nationalities from international cruises. The port consists of a 700m quay wall, a passenger and luggage hall, indoor retail spaces, prayer rooms, and offices.

The new terminal at AQABA PORT is a product of the cooperation between the AD Ports Group based out of UAE and the Aqaba Development Corporation of the Government of Jordan. Hence the port is also a cornerstone of cooperation between the UAE and the Kingdom of Jordan.

AD Ports Group developed the terminal, and moving ahead they will also be the ones managing and operating the terminal.

The terminal is located in the southern part of the Kingdom of Jordan, on the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. The new port will act as a gateway for passengers traveling to the Red Sea and bolster the local economy.
