Three new ASELSAN products that will strengthen the power of the Naval Forces will be added to the inventory this year, together with the MİLGEM 5th ship.

ASELSAN exhibited domestic systems developed with the power of original engineering at TEKNOFEST Izmir, organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, where Anadolu Agency (AA) is the global communication partner for the 9th time.

At the festival, ASELSAN’s naval systems, which were included in the inventory for the first time this year and whose development studies are continuing, were also introduced.

ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol, in his statement to the AA correspondent, commemorated the martyrs on the anniversary of the Preveza Naval Victory.

Stating that they have recently been working on new products for the Naval Forces’ platforms, Akyol said that they have developed 3 products this year to be used in the continuation of the Open Sea Patrol Ship and MİLGEM project.

Stating that the GÖKDENİZ Close Air Defense System was recently integrated into the MİLGEM 5th ship, Akyol stated that they have signed export contracts with 3 countries so far. Akyol noted that with GÖKDENİZ, they have brought a system that neutralizes air and surface targets at close range with particle ammunition to the Naval Forces nationally, with its radar, electro-optics, fire control algorithms and smart ammunition.

Stating that they completed the nationalization work on the air defense radars on the upper mast of the ship, which were purchased from abroad in previous years and had difficulties in obtaining them from time to time, Akyol stated that the CENK radar has taken its place on the MİLGEM 5th ship. Akyol noted that CENK acts as the ship’s air defense radar and enables the detection and identification of all aircraft, missiles and surface vehicles approaching the ship. Ahmet Akyol said, “CENK radar is an extremely high technology. It enters the inventory of the Naval Forces this year with its active scanning radar technology.” said.

SCORPIO radar is also complete, new domestic systems are on the way

Stating that another product to be brought to the Naval Forces this year is the AKREP fire control radar, Akyol stated that the radar, which was purchased from different countries in the past and provided engagement, was also integrated into the MİLGEM 5th ship. Ahmet Akyol said, “We are adding 3 products to the inventory this year that will strengthen the power of the Naval Forces.” he said.

In addition, Akyol stated that their underwater work continues at the same intensity and that Turkey’s first autonomous underwater vehicle DERİNGÖZ is about to enter the inventory.

Explaining that they also nationalized the drivable masts of the sails of submarines that are subject to license purchase, Akyol said that they solved some problems such as pressure, sealing and expansion under water. Ahmet Akyol said, “With this product, our submarines have the opportunity to approach the surface and use their loads such as communication, radar, electronic warfare, radar and optics by taking them out with masts. This year, we are adding 3 of our products on the water to the inventory for the first time. Our 2 new products under water are ASELSAN’s Turkish Armed Forces products.” “There will be new products introduced to its forces.” said.
