The passenger ship “Astoria Grande”, which came from Russia to the Amasra district of Bartın and crashed into the fenders in the port due to the strong wind, will be taken to Tuzla Shipyard in Istanbul for repair.

It was stated by the insurance company officials that the cruise of the ship, whose damage assessment work was initiated, would not be safe with the passengers.

Thereupon, it was decided to send the 385 Russian passengers on board to Sochi by private planes.

After the private planes are procured, it is planned to send the passengers to their countries from Amasya Merzifon Airport or Zonguldak Airport today or tomorrow.

It was stated that the ship will be taken to Tuzla Shipyard to repair the damage to its propellers.

The cruise ship, which set off from Russia and came to Amasra via Istanbul, hit the fenders in the port due to the wind blowing at 40 kilometers per hour on January 18, and after being left in the open for a while, damage assessment work was started on the ship that anchored in the port.
