Report has emerged on bulk carrier INTERLINK SAGACITY engine room fire, which occurred on Dec 30 and disabled the ship. Fire lasted for several hours, it was extinguished by activated firefighting system, but left the ship with significantly damaged main engine, off Albany, southwest Australia. Tug responded, bulk carrier was towed to Albany anchorage, where she remains anchored since Jan 2. She was bound for Australian Esperance Port with cargo of copper concentrate.
