The cargo ship ran aground in Hopa district of Artvin.
Due to the storm off the coast of Hopa district, the Palau-flagged dry cargo ship “FR Pearl” was dragged to the shore.
After the ship ran aground, AFAD, Coast Guard, AKUT, police, fire brigade and medical teams were dispatched to the region.
The teams started work to evacuate 13 crew members, including 6 Turks, 5 Azeris and 2 Indonesians.
The crew is taken to the shore with the zipline system established between the ship and the land (users slide from one point to another with a seat belt, using steel ropes and pulleys between two points).
