Celestyal completely renewed its fleet by purchasing a second new ship in 2023.
The new ship, named Discovery, will begin its voyages in March 2024.
Award-winning Celestyal, the number one choice of those traveling to the Aegean and Greek Islands, announced that it has purchased a new ship and added it to its fleet this year. Discovery, the second new ship purchased following the recent addition of Journey to the fleet, demonstrates Celestyal’s investment in renovation and guest experience.
Celestyal Discovery will begin sailings in March 2024, having undergone multimillion-Euro winter renewal programs alongside its fleetmate Journey in Athens. The name ‘Discovery’ given to the ship symbolizes the company’s philosophy of creating unmissable moments of discovery by connecting people and places. Discovery represents Celestyal’s confident spirit, sense of discovery and curiosity.
Built in 2003 for Carnival Corporation and sailing under the AIDA Cruise brand throughout its career to date, Celestyal Discovery is a mid-sized ship. Discovery, which will allow Celestyal to continue its original and unique itineraries in the destination, will be able to accommodate approximately 1,266 guests in a total of 633 cabins, 62 of which have balconies.
Celestyal’s newest ship, Discovery; Available from December 11, 2023, Celestyal will take over Olympia’s 2024 programme. Special launch offers planned for Discovery will be included in the Black Friday campaign as well as Celestyal’s biggest early bird campaign to date, which will launch at the end of the year. Guests who already have reservations on Celestyal Olympia will be contacted and accommodated on sailings on the refurbished Celestyal Discovery.

Celestyal Discovery will showcase many of the most beloved features of the Celestyal fleet; The ship features an Amphitheatre with ample conference and event space, a signature Grillseekers restaurant, a wellness center, a large pool deck, a Greek Deli, gelato and juice bars.
There will also be a few surprise additions to be presented to guests during the renovation program in Greece. More details about the onboard experience and itineraries will be announced in due course.
