celestyal introduced its new cruise ship journey

Celestyal, the Greek cruise company that visits Turkish ports the most, introduced its new cruise ship named Journey to its fleet with a launch at Istanbul Galataport Port.

The ship, which was launched in September and set out from Athens, arrived in Istanbul after the Thessaloniki voyage. The ship, which aims to be the choice of travel lovers with its 630 cabins, 149 of which have balconies, 7 restaurants, 8 bars and lounges, sun terraces and living areas, has a capacity of 1,260 guests. Journey is approximately 220 meters long and weighs 55 thousand gross tons.

High demand from Turkish passengers

Celestyal Turkey Director Özgü Alnıtemiz expressed that they were pleased with the interest in the new cruise ship Journey and said, “Cruises departing from Turkey attract more attention of Turkish travel lovers because they make their job easier. “We already have passengers calling us saying, ‘We want to travel on the ship we see in Galataport right now,’ without even knowing the name of the ship,” he said.

15 thousand passengers were hosted in 1 day

Regarding the increasing cruise demand in recent years, Galataport Port Operations Deputy General Manager Figen Ayan said, “Galataport continues 2023 very successfully. While we will serve 17 shipping companies in 2022, we will serve 31 shipping companies this year. This year, we have achieved our goal, which has been going on for years, with these numbers. “We hosted 15 thousand passengers on 3 ships, this statistic is the same as serving approximately 50 aircraft,” he said.

Journey will continue its programs from Istanbul and Kuşadası until the end of November.
