It has been reported that China’s first domestic passenger ship, Adora Magic City, has been delivered to the operator company.
It was informed that all installation and decoration processes inside the ship were completed today. A crew of 1,292 people from different countries boarded the ship and started their duties.
Adora Magic City was completed after eight years of research and five years of design and construction, and was delivered to Shanghai’s Waigaoqiao Port on November 4. The 135 thousand-ton cruise ship, built at Waigaoqiao Shipyard, was ordered for Adora Cruises, a joint venture between Carnival Corporation and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).
The ship, which will serve the Chinese domestic market with a capacity of 5 thousand guests, is expected to start its maiden voyage in early 2024. According to Adora Cruises, the ship was designed specifically to serve Chinese guests and offers a combination of Chinese and Western-style features, including a shopping plaza, a two-story dining room and more.
Along with Mediterranea, which is planned to be put into service this year, Adora Magic City will offer a series of short trips from China to international destinations in the region. (CGTN TURK)
