Container ship WAN HAI 312 contacted waterfront embankment at Kaohsiung Port at around 1955 LT Jul 10, right across Coast Guard Station near Kaohsiung VTS. WAN HAI 312 was leaving Kaohsiung with tug assistance. Port infrastructure suffered substantial damages, including navigational marks and street lamps. Container ship was ordered to anchor at Kaohsiung anchorage, to wait for damage assessment report, remained anchored as of 2130 LT Jul 11.
