Nov 2 seemed to be a day of breakaway barges – in Russian Arctic fuel barge is still adrift somewhere in southeast Barents sea, while in Seattle Harbor, Elliot Bay, container barge broke free from Terminal 18 in the afternoon Nov 2. Barge drifted across harbor and stopped after hitting marina Pier 66. Barge could bring on much more damages, if not for quick reaction and response of water taxi skipper Capt. Dan Krehbiel and his crew. Krehbiel steered the boat toward the barge, and by pushing barge with taxi bow, diverted it from a dangerous collision with waterfront. Later barge was taken back to Terminal, pier is reportedly damaged.
