The incident occurred on the evening of December 20. According to the information obtained, after the explosion that occurred while he was 7 miles off the Bozburun location of Sinop, where he approached to anchor, a fire broke out on the Panama-flagged dry cargo ship Beata Alfa. The 16 injured crew members on the ship, where the captain was missing, were rescued by the fishermen and the Coast Guard Command teams and taken to hospitals in various provinces.

4 people who were in danger of life in the fire were treated in the Burn Intensive Care Service of Samsun Training and Research Hospital. Mohammed Ramadan Farghaly Kassen, 36, an Egyptian national, died this morning despite the interventions.
