Gen cargo ship grounding in Weser, Germany - News2Sea

General cargo ship BBC UTAH ran aground in the evening Feb 9 in Weser river, while sailing downstream, en route from Bremen to Sunderland UK. Grounding was caused by some mechanical malfunstion, the ship’s bow got stuck in river bank. Responding tug stabilized the ship, preventing her hull from turning around. Shortly after midnight BBC UTAH was refloated by tugs, and taken back to Bremen, where she remained berthed as of morning Feb 10.
