The meeting, chaired by IMEAK Chamber of Shipping Chairman Tamer Kıran, was attended by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (UAB) Durmuş Ünüvar, General Manager of Maritime Affairs Ünal Baylan, General Manager of Shipyards and Coastal Structures Salih Tan, General Manager of Coastal Safety Mustafa Bankaoğlu, İMEAK DTO Assembly President Başaran Bayrak, Members of the Board of Directors, Chairman and Members of the Branch Board of Directors and Professional Committees and representatives of the participating organizations attended. In his speech at the opening of the meeting, Tamer Kıran pointed out that we are going through a difficult period and stated that while the Russia-Ukraine war continues right next to us, the conflicts between Palestine and Israel that started on October 7 created a serious element of instability for our immediate region.

Pointing out that Turkey, especially our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, is making great efforts to control the escalating tension in the region before it spreads to a wider area, Tamer Kıran said, “The world must take urgent action to stop the bloodshed in the region and to immediately end the civilian casualties, which have now turned into a tragedy.” “It is our greatest wish that peace and tranquility will be established as soon as possible.” said.

Reminding that the 2nd Joint Professional Committees Meeting was held in the form of a workshop on June 22, Tamer Kıran stated that they made detailed preparations after this meeting and compiled the issues conveyed by the professional committees into a report, and that they worked closely with the relevant ministries after this meeting.

Stating that they will bring up a total of 32 issues that concern the Ministry of Transport at today’s meeting, Tamer Kıran said, “Of course, we will continue to seek solutions together regarding the issues that will be on the agenda today as well as the new issues that will arise from now on.” said.

Stating that the mutual dialogue and sincerity between our Chamber and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is strong enough to overcome every problem, Tamer Kıran thanked the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uroloğlu for his close interest in the maritime sector, and Deputy Minister Durmuş Ünüvar, who took time from his busy work and attended today’s meeting. and thanked the General Managers.

At the meeting, the Presidents and Members of the Joint Professional Committees of our Chamber took the floor and expressed their problems, and Deputy Minister Durmuş Ünüvar responded to the members one by one.

At the end of the meeting, Tamer Kıran and Başaran Bayrak presented a ship model to Durmuş Ünüvar.
