A luxury cruise ship with more than 200 passengers and crew, mostly Australians, stuck on the muddy seabed in the northeast of Greenland, was rescued after long efforts.
In a written statement from Copenhagen-based SunStone Ships, the owner of the ship, it was stated that the ship was saved thanks to its own engine power and the towing of another ship belonging to the Greenland government.
It was stated in the statement that no harm was caused to anyone or nature during the rescue operation, and added: “While the damage to the bottom is being examined, the ship will be towed to the port and the passengers will be sent to their countries by plane from there.” information was shared.
The majority of the 200 passengers on board are Australians, but there are also citizens of New Zealand, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Three previous attempts to save the ship had failed.
On the other hand, it was announced that 3 passengers whose Covid-19 tests were positive were isolated.
