Maersk sells its facilities in Russia - News2Sea

Shipping company Maersk announced that it has reached an agreement with Cyprus-based IG Finance Development Limited to sell its logistics facilities in Russia.

Sanctions initiated after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine continue to grow like an avalanche. Almost every month we witness a company selling its assets in Russia. Denmark-based shipping and logistics group AP Moller-Maersk has recently joined the caravan to leave Russia.

Maersk said in a statement that it has almost ceased its business operations in Russia, having reached an agreement to sell its two logistics facilities in Russia to IG Finance Development Limited.

The Group has a 1,500-container (TEU) inland warehouse facility in Novorossiisk and St. He said it has received regulatory approvals from the European Union and Russia for the sale of a refrigerated and frozen warehouse in St. Petersburg.

“We are pleased that we have sold our two logistics facilities in Russia so that we can implement our decision to divest all our assets in Russia,” said Karsten Kildahl, Chief Commercial Officer.

Maersk said that IG Finance Development, a company registered in Cyprus, has entered into an agreement with Arosa, a major food importer in Russia, to operate the facilities.
