Marmaris Boat Show opens its doors at Setur Netsel Marmaris Marina

Nearly 50 companies with over 100 brands will participate in the Marmaris Boat Show, which will include marine vehicles, yacht equipment and accessories, to be held in Marmaris, the district with the longest coastline in Turkey with a coastline of 452 km. The fair, which will be held just before the Marmaris Yacht Races, which will be held for the 34th time this year, aims to promote the Marmaris yacht and boat industry to more than 1200 yachtsmen who will participate in the yacht races. In addition, Marmaris Boat Show, which is eagerly awaited by amateur sea enthusiasts, will host many events during the fair.

Visitors will have the chance to take a journey into the history of maritime in Marmaris with the events prepared by the Marmaris Chamber of Commerce. The “Sailing Paraçele” type boat, unique to Marmaris, will be built by the captain and wooden boat master Mustafa Kısaoğlu from Marmaris during the fair, and the construction stages can be watched by visitors during the fair. In another stand prepared by MTO; The materials used in the construction of Hürriyet, the first boat of the blue voyage in Marmaris, will be exhibited. In addition, the “Marmaris Photography Exhibition in the Press in the Early Years of the Republic”, consisting of newspaper clippings from the 1930s and 40s, and the “Sponge Fishery Photography Exhibition in Marmaris in the Recent Past”, which includes details of the sponge diving history of Marmaris, can also be visited at the stand.

In the conversation to be held on the second day of the fair, “The History of Blue Cruise in Marmaris” will be told by Oksijen Newspaper writer Ali Boratav and Mustafa Eroğlu and Süleyman Eroğlu, the owners of Hürriyet Boat, which started the blue cruise adventure in Marmaris, under the moderation of the famous documentary producer and director Savaş Karakaş. . On the third day of the fair; Memories of sponge diving, the lost profession of Marmaris, will be hosted by Selimiyeli Mithat Dayı (Ahmet Yıldız), one of the last living sponge divers of Marmaris, Bodi’s Abdi (Abdi Arslan) and Diving Instructor/Researcher Gökçer Karaağaç, in the “History of Sponge Diving in Marmaris” session. will be shared.
