Container ship MSC PALATIUM III was hit by missile at around 1040 UTC Dec 15 27 nm WSW of Mukha, Yemen, southern Red sea, while sailing in southern direction from Mombasa to Jeddah. The ship turned back and by 1600 UTC already passed Bab al Mandeb Strait in southern direction, destination unknown. Reportedly, there was fire on board after explosion, with crew fighting it. Navy ship or ships in the area responded and either are assisting, or will assist the crew. Understood crew are safe.
