The MV JANET MARIE is the second ship in the “Ohana Class,” following the successful launch of the George III on August 17th last year. With a length of 235 meters, the ship will operate on LNG from its very first day, exceeding the emission standards set by the International Maritime Organization for 2030.

Equipped with MAN Powered engines, the MV JANET MARIE has a cargo capacity of 2,525 units. This includes the ability to transport 500, 45-foot containers, 400 refrigerated containers, and 300 40-foot dry containers when fully loaded.

Designed with cutting-edge technology, the ship features an optimized hull and a state-of-the-art engine. Its underwater propulsion system incorporates a high-efficiency rudder and propeller, all contributing to its exceptional fuel efficiency. Pasha Hawaii has stated that the vessel will have a sailing speed of 23 knots.

In order to support the use of LNG as fuel, Pasha Hawaii has made significant investments in LNG refueling infrastructure at the Port of Long Beach. This includes the installation of 40 cryogenic ISO tanks and a six-pump skid system.

Furthermore, Pasha Hawaii is committed to reducing emissions by retrofitting its diesel ships with new scrubbers. Additionally, the company is actively exploring the potential of hydrogen as a fuel source. Currently, they are working on a project that involves the generation of green hydrogen through solar energy and supplying hydrogen fuel for the world’s first hydrogen-powered commercial ferry, the MV “Sea Change.”
