PSA International has a new chief executive officer next year with the appointment of Ong Kim Pong.
Ong, who is currently Regional CEO for Southeast Asia, will take over from Tan Chong Meng, who will officially retire on March 1, 2024, after 12 years at the helm of the Singapore-based terminal operator, in line with succession plans.
Under Tan’s management, PSA’s footprint expanded from 17 countries to 43 countries worldwide. “It has been a great honor to lead PSA and witness its growth into the global supply chain player it is today, partnering two in five port and logistics-related businesses and organisations, government authorities and cargo owners around the world to achieve greater flexibility and sustainability,” said Tan. .
Nelson Quek, general manager of PSA’s container business in Singapore, will serve as regional CEO for Southeast Asia.
