QTerminals Antalya, Turkey’s leading commercial cargo and cruise port, launched the memorial stone with the inscription “Centennial of the National Struggle” and the print of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Republic.

QTerminals Antalya General Manager Özgür Sert told reporters at the ceremony held in Düden Park that they celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic with young people and children.

Stating that they organized sailing races with the participation of 50 athletes with the Mediterranean Sailing Sports Club within the scope of the events, Sert said, “We lowered a monument into the sea right near the place where the Düden Waterfall flows into the sea. It has the words “Centenary of the National Struggle” and the print of the great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on it. “We are very excited. Celebrating the 100th anniversary of our hard-won Republic is very valuable for all of us. We are in the days when we all realize how important its value is and how much we need to realize it.” said.

Sert added that the wishes of children collected through social media were buried at the seabed in “time capsules” by divers.

During the ceremony, the 700-kilogram monument stone was lowered from the ship into the sea, approximately 200 meters offshore.
