Resorts World to Restart Cruising in China With Cruise Ship “World Resort One”

Resorts World to Restart Cruising in China With Cruise Ship "World Resort One" - News2Sea

The newest cruise ship in the fleet of Resorts World named “RESORTS WORLD ONE” is to become the first Cruise ship to begin cruising in China after relaxation of covid restrictions.

The 75,338 gross ton RESORTS WORLD ONE was formerly known as the EXPLORER DREAM when it was owned by Dream Cruises. The financial collapse of Dream Cruises’ parent company Genting Hong Kong caused the cruise company to be liquidated and the assets to be sold. The ship has been chartered and rebranded by Resorts World.

The ship has 928 rooms and can accommodate 1,856 guests. It will now offer cruises from Singapore for two weeks, acting as a replacement for the “Genting Dream”, which is another Cruise ship owned by Resorts World.

Following this, it will offer two and three-night cruises from Hong Kong beginning from March 10th. Resorts World Cruises, which is the company chartering the vessel, will be the first cruise line to be operating in China after the relaxation of Covid restrictions. The ship itself will be the first ship to be homeported in Hong Kong after 5th January 2022.
