China’s Shanghai Port retained its title as the world’s busiest container port in 2023, with a 3.6% increase in volume.
Container volume at Shanghai Port exceeded 49 million teu last year. This was 1.7 million teu higher than last year, up 3.6%.
Yangshan port area reported container volume of 25 million teu last year, up 4.6% year on year, accounting for 51% of Shanghai Port’s total throughput.
The Port of Shanghai currently offers more than 320 weekly lines to more than 700 ports worldwide.(7Sea)
