Sonitus Engineering introduced its new container transport vehicle

Sonitus Engineering introduced its new autonomous container transport vehicle with the feature of extending and shortening.

Sonitus Engineering, which was founded in 2016 and operates in many fields such as aviation, maritime and defense, introduced its new autonomous container transport vehicle with the feature of extending and shortening. It promises a more practical work process than its vehicle counterparts, which aim to increase handling performance and shorten operation times.

The autonomous container transport vehicle is designed to handle all ISO stand containers of 40 ft and 20 ft sizes without the need for additional equipment, thanks to its extend and shorten function. The vehicle has the capacity to carry up to 35 tons in total, including the weight of the container. The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 5 km/h on a 5 percent inclined surface. While it is 40 ft long, it can maneuver within a 6.5 meter turning radius.

The vehicle, which has all-wheel drive and braking capability, is not affected by irregularities on the working surfaces with its independent shock absorber system. Thanks to its compact design, it takes up little space even when parked.

The Container Transport Vehicle can easily secure containers thanks to its container locks produced in accordance with ISO 3874 standards. The vehicle, which has front and rear lights, facilitates operations by illuminating the front and rear in situations where light is insufficient.

Thanks to its 4 independent bogie structures, the vehicle enables sharp maneuvers and comfortable driving in narrow spaces and can rotate 360 degrees around its center. At the same time, it significantly reduces the environmental impact with its carbon emission reduction technology and maintains a sustainable transportation approach in transportation.

The panel, where the automation control unit and electronic control unit is located, houses all the electronic components of the vehicle. Thanks to the perforated bodywork of the vehicle, regular and adequate ventilation of the hydraulic system and diesel main engine is ensured. The modular, easily removable body structure saves time in periodic maintenance.

With the hydraulic system driven by a diesel machine, the vehicle’s special software and remote control facilities, extension/shortening (20 ft-40 ft transition) functions can be easily performed within 10 seconds without the need for a different device.
