The speedboat sank near the shore in Antalya’s Konyaaltı district. The captain was rescued by lifeguards. A lifeguard, who was trying to keep the boat from sinking, was injured in his shoulder.
The 5-meter-long speedboat, which took water off the Büyük Caltıcak Beach in Konyaaltı, started to sink.
Realizing that the boat was taking on water, Hunkar D. immediately turned the rudder towards the shore. The boat, which quickly took on water, capsized with its speed. The lifeguards on the shore, who saw the incident, rushed to Dan’s aid. Lifeguards and Hunkar D. made great efforts to prevent the boat from sinking.
Despite all the efforts, most of the boat was buried in the heat. The Marine Police was dispatched to the region with the notification made to the 112 Emergency Call Center. A lifeguard, who was injured in the shoulder while trying to prevent the boat from sinking, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
While Hunkar D. survived the accident unharmed, rescue work was started with the arrival of other boats for the removal of the boat.
