The cruise ship named “Astoria Grande” departing from Sochi, Russia, docked at Amasra Port.

The tourists on the ship, which arrived in Amasra district of Bartın with 788 passengers and a crew of 439 after Istanbul, were welcomed by Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Özlem Koçak and other relevant people.

Tourists whose procedures were completed were given informative brochures about Amasra written in Russian at the port exit.

The tourists then left the port to see the historical and touristic places in the district.

Some of the visitors, who spent time at the Amasra Museum, Tow Trucks Bazaar, Grand Port, Amasra Castle and Kemere Bridge, went by tour buses to the Safranbolu district of Karabük, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List and famous for its historical houses.

An event will be organized by the district governor’s office for the tourists on the ship that will stay anchored in Amasra for the night. It was learned that the ship will depart for Ordu tomorrow.

Culture and Tourism Director Koçak told reporters that the district is a rich region with its green, blue and cultural assets, and that tourists coming by cruise ship also admired Amasra.

“Astoria Grande”, which came to Amasra for the first time on August 3, 2022 with 350 passengers and 280 personnel, has brought 15 thousand 744 tourists and 9 thousand 56 personnel to the district with 25 trips to date.
