The evacuation of fuel from the Cameroon-flagged cargo ship “Vamos”, which was dragged ashore on November 27 due to a storm on the İnebolu coast of Kastamonu, has started.
The ship, which brought urea from Russia to İnebolu Port, was dragged from the pier to which it was tied due to the storm after unloading its cargo and ran aground in the Karadeniz Mahallesi area.
Within the scope of the work carried out under the supervision of İnebolu Port Authority and İnebolu Customs Directorate, the fuel on the ship is being evacuated.
The fuel on the ship is transferred to tankers waiting on the shore through hoses. Precautions were taken against leakage by surrounding the ship with a barrier.
It was learned that after the discharge of the fuel is completed, work will be carried out to remove the ship from its location.
