The loss of life in the boat that sank in the Tanda Dam Lake in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province rose to 51.
The loss of life increased in the boat that sank on 29 January in the Tanda Dam Lake in the Kohat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It was stated that as a result of the ongoing search and rescue efforts in the lake, the number of people who lost their lives in the disaster increased to 51. In his statement, Deputy Commissioner Kohat Furqan Ashraf stated that the disaster occurred as a result of the boat being overloaded and that the bodies of those who lost their lives were transferred to the hospital to be delivered to their families. Officials stated that the search and rescue efforts in the lake continue with the support of the Pakistani army and that an estimated 2 more people are missing.
The boat that sank in the dam was carrying the students of an education school and it is estimated that there were at least 59 people on the boat.
