The ship that will carry aid to Gaza set out from Izmir at 23:00 yesterday evening. The ship will arrive at Egypt’s El Arish Port today.
Aid ship to Gaza departed from Izmir
While Israel’s massacres in Gaza continue, Turkey continues its efforts to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in the region where a great tragedy took place. Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca gave information about the dry cargo ship that will bring aid from Turkey to Gaza.
Minister Koca said, “The ship carrying aid to Gaza will depart from Izmir at 23:00. The ship will arrive at Egypt’s El Arish Port tomorrow. It will be the first cargo ship to go to Egypt in this process. It has 8 field hospitals.” he said. The ship also has field hospitals, as well as approximately 500 tons of aid equipment, including medicine, medical devices, 20 ambulances and medical supplies. Medical supplies and ambulances are being loaded by the officers onto the dry cargo ship that anchored at Izmir Alsancak Port last night. “The ship will set sail after the loading process is completed,” he said.
Children with cancer from Gaza will be brought to Turkey
On the other hand, Minister Koca, in his speech at the budget discussions of his ministry at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Planning and Budget Commission, said, “I met with the Israeli Minister of Health yesterday evening. As the Minister of Health and as a physician, I clearly stated that any form of violence is unacceptable. The failure to maintain health services is inexplicable.” “We are in agreement on this. I expressed our expectation and responsibility for the safe referral process of patients, starting with children with cancer whose treatment is incomplete. They agreed with us on this issue and expressed a positive opinion. We will start bringing children with cancer to Turkey as soon as possible.” said.
