The tanker, which broke down in the Bosphorus while traveling from Romania to Gibraltar, was rescued.
According to the statement made by the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, the 183-meter-long oil-laden tanker named “DIADEMA” suffered an engine malfunction in the Poyrazköy location of the Bosphorus while traveling from Romania to Gibraltar.
The oil-laden tanker, which was rescued under the coordination of the Istanbul Ship Traffic Services Center of the institution, accompanied by the pilot and the Rescue-10 and 12 tugboats, was anchored in Ahırkapı.
Ship traffic in the Bosphorus, which was suspended in both directions due to the incident, was reopened in the south-north direction as of 02:00.
