Turkey's 3rd FSRU ship entered the Mediterranean - News2Sea

The ship, which will be used as Turkey’s 3rd Floating LNG Storage and Gasification Unit (FSRU) and will serve at Saros FSRU Terminal, entered the Mediterranean.

The ship that will provide gasification to the transmission system of liquefied natural gas to be brought to Turkey by sea and will serve at BOTAŞ’s Saros FSRU Terminal entered the Mediterranean.

The ship, which passed through the Suez Canal yesterday, is expected to continue its journey in the Mediterranean, off the coast of Egypt, and finally arrive at Saros.

The ship, which has a total LNG storage capacity of 180 thousand cubic meters, has a daily gasification capacity of 28 million cubic meters. The Vasant ship is 294 meters long, 48 meters wide and 63 meters high.

Accelerating its infrastructure works with the aim of becoming a natural gas trade center, Turkey is counting the days to commission its 3rd FSRU terminal in Saros Bay.

With the commissioning of Saros, it is calculated that Turkey’s daily gasification capacity will exceed 150 million cubic meters.

The terminal, which is the first FSRU in Turkey and operated by Impact Port Management in İzmir, was inaugurated in March 2017. The facility has a daily capacity of 28 million cubic meters of gas to the grid.

The FSRU terminal in Hatay Dörtyol has been in service since 2018. Ertuğrul Gazi, the first FSRU used in the terminal and registered in the Turkish Maritime Registry, operates with a LNG storage capacity of 170,000 cubic meters and a gasification capacity of 28 million cubic meters per day.
