Hat-San simultaneously cut steel for floating power plants.
HAT-SAN Shipyard cut steel at the same time for two projects it will build for Karpowership, a subsidiary of Karadeniz Holding and the world’s leading energy ship operator.
It was learned that the floating power plants with construction numbers NB23 and NB24 will be Orca class. Both ships are planned to be delivered at the end of 2025.
Orca class features
Since Orca class power plants, which are among Karpowership’s classifications, do not have propellers, they are taken to the area where they will operate by tugboats. Orcas, which can have an electrical capacity of up to 260 MW, are built with a length of 140 meters and a width of 42 meters. Since Orcas have a depth of 3 meters, they can be connected to almost any port. Orcas, which are 45 to 60 meters high, can accommodate 60 crew and employees.
